Insurance & Cash Pay

Riseland bills Insurance for covered services for patients already enrolled in Insurance, and offers clear cash/self-pay pricing for everyone else. We’ll always tell you what Insurance is expected to cover — and what it isn’t — before you’re charged, so there are no surprises.

Initial Sleep Evaluation

The Initial Sleep Evaluation is a 45–60 minute virtual visit where we review your sleep history, symptoms, and risk factors, determines whether a home sleep apnea test is appropriate, and maps your next steps — the first stage of our “7-Night Sleep Answer.”

Do you accept Insurance?

Yes, for covered services, for patients already enrolled in Insurance. Home sleep apnea testing and certain sleep services may be covered when medically appropriate; we confirm your specific coverage first.

Do you take commercial insurance?

Riseland is primarily Insurance-and-cash-pay.

What if a service isn’t covered?

We’ll tell you in advance and offer transparent cash pricing. Some non-clinical services (like CPAP Coaching) are cash-only by design.

How does Insurance billing actually work here?

This is the part we’re handling carefully. Under Insurance’s mandatory claim-submission rule, providers generally must submit claims for covered services rather than asking Insurance patients to pay cash for them — so “cash vs. covered” isn’t simply our choice. Where a service or item isn’t covered, an Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) may apply so you know your responsibility in advance. We’re finalizing exactly how this maps to our specific service codes with a Insurance biller before launch.

Can I just pay cash even if I have Insurance?

Not always, and we won’t pretend otherwise. For covered services, Insurance’s rules limit when a participating provider can accept cash instead of billing. Whether a nurse practitioner can formally opt out of Insurance (as some physicians do) is a separate question we’re confirming with our biller — we’ll publish clear, accurate options once that’s settled. Non-clinical services like CPAP Coaching are cash-only by design and sit outside Insurance entirely.
