Riseland Health is a nurse practitioner-led telehealth sleep clinic serving patients across Alabama. From Birmingham to Mobile to the rural Black Belt, you can test for and treat sleep apnea from home — a virtual evaluation with Asha Inniss, DNP, a mailed home sleep test, and a personalized plan. Insurance accepted.
Start with the free 2-minute Sleep Risk Quiz, or book a $125 virtual evaluation with Asha Inniss, DNP. If a home sleep test is appropriate, we mail it to your Alabama address, you sleep in your own bed, and Asha reviews the results with you by video. No sleep lab, no overnight stay, and no months-long specialist wait. Most patients are seen within days.
Obstructive sleep apnea is common and highly treatable, yet it hides in plain sight. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine estimates OSA affects nearly 30 million U.S. adults, and roughly 80% of them are undiagnosed. People chalk up the exhaustion, loud snoring, and morning headaches to age or stress — while untreated apnea quietly raises the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. A short home test can end years of guessing.
Alabama carries one of the nation’s heavier chronic-disease burdens, adult obesity sits around 38.9% (2023 CDC data) and excess weight is a leading reversible driver of sleep apnea. At the same time, many Alabamians, especially in rural counties face long drives and long waits to see a sleep specialist. A 100% virtual clinic removes the travel and the waitlist. You get evaluated, tested, and treated without leaving home.
Alabama is a reduced-practice state: nurse practitioners work under a collaborative agreement with a physician. Within those rules, Asha can evaluate your symptoms and risk, order a home sleep apnea test, interpret the results, diagnose obstructive sleep apnea, and build and manage your treatment plan, including CPAP setup, coaching, and compliance monitoring. One important limit to know: in Alabama, nurse practitioners may not prescribe controlled substances for weight loss, so any weight-and-sleep plan is built around what’s permitted in your state.
For patients already enrolled in Insurance, we bill Insurance for covered services including home sleep apnea testing when it’s medically appropriate. Under Insurance Part B you generally pay 20% after the annual deductible ($283 in 2026). Insurance telehealth rules have been extended but remain subject to federal action, so we confirm your current coverage before you’re charged. Prefer to self-pay? Transparent cash pricing is available too.
Riseland stays with you. If you’re diagnosed with OSA and start CPAP, we help you get comfortable and consistent through CPAP coaching, and we monitor your adherence — which also protects your Insurance equipment coverage. Follow-ups, refills of eligible non-controlled medications, and weight-and-sleep support are all available by video.
