Can I test for sleep apnea without going to a lab?

Yes. Many people can be evaluated for obstructive sleep apnea with a home sleep apnea test (HSAT). After reviewing your symptoms and medical history, we’ll determine whether a home test is appropriate for you. If your condition requires more detailed evaluation, we may recommend an in-lab sleep study instead.

Is a home sleep apnea test accurate?

For adults with a high likelihood of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea, a home sleep apnea test is a reliable and clinically validated diagnostic option. However, it is not appropriate for everyone. If your results are inconclusive or you have certain medical conditions or other sleep disorders, an in-lab sleep study may be recommended for a more comprehensive evaluation.

Does Medicare cover a home sleep apnea test?

In many cases, yes. Medicare and many commercial insurance plans cover home sleep apnea testing when it is medically necessary and ordered by a qualified healthcare provider. Coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan, and our team can help verify your benefits before testing.
